Welcome to the newly overhauled stuartkent.com. I hope you enjoy the new look of the site, I have redesigned the entire website, with a fair bit of work to go… The new site is not just visually refreshed, there have been substantial changes under the hood. Stuartkent.com is now totally responsive, meaning that it will load correctly on every browser and device, without any input from you. This is a major improvement, made even better with massive speed increases to reduce load time on your end, streamlined coding which means that I can post more efficiently – which in turn means more often, and I have added a wealth of new features.
So on to the real reason for today’s post, I am finally back to the woodshop, back to work, back to building furniture. I have been working hard to get the new shop open and I’m glad to announce that my furniture shop is open again and taking orders! I am excited about some ‘new’ pieces of equipment (old machines, new to me) that will improve efficiency and accuracy, and free up ore time for me at the workbench. For all of you tool nerds, I promise to write a blog post for each of the new machines in the coming months.
Stuart Kent & Co. will be growing substantially over the next several months from the size it has been over the last five and half years – thanks to each of you that have supported my American business, and thanks to each of you that are now considering me for your custom furniture needs. The first major change to the business is the addition of Master Furniture Making classes that I will start offering later this spring. Thanks to the continued support for my work I will be selling some limited edition products through select retail stores and I am growing my online presence substantially to include retail sales of my furniture.
As we finally enter the warm months this year, and you think about work in the garden, redecorating, or remodeling, I hope you will consider a Stuart Kent & Co. furniture piece for your home.
As things get started, check out my brand new store on Etsy, stuartkentfurniture, and follow me – with microblogging on Tumblr, a new video series that I will be posting on Vimeo and Youtube, and look for me in the very near future on Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and StumbleUpon.
